Happy New Year!
The Free is a finalist for the Ken Kesey Award for Fiction! Literary Arts hosts the Oregon Book Awards on April 13, 2015 at the Gerding Theater in Portland, OR. Lean on Pete won this award in 2011 so we’re hoping for a repeat performance. Stay tuned for voting info for the Readers’ Choice Award!
Sorry it’s been a while since we updated the site… Willy has been busy touring with The Delines and working on novel #5. We are very excited to announce that Willy is making the literary festival rounds this summer, beginning with Edinburgh International Book Festival August 19-20, then Melbourne Writers Festival August 30-31, and Brisbane Writers Festival September 3-7. Then it’s back to the States for a Richmond Fontaine micro-tour: The Pendleton Roundup (at Great Pacific) on September 13, and then at Portland’s World Famous Kenton Club on September 18! These are going to be great gigs! The RF boys will pull out all the cow-punk stops at the Roundup! Hope to see you there!
Willy has been working on a new project with singer Amy Boone (The Damnations TX), Sean Oldham (Richmond Fontaine), Jenny Conlee-Drizos (The Decemberists), Freddy Trujillo, and Tucker Jackson (The Minus 5) — The Delines.
Their debut album, COLFAX, is now out in the UK, Ireland, and Europe. Release date in the US is June 17. It’s getting rave reviews (UNCUT 9/10 stars!) as a classic country soul record.
The band is hitting the road in June (UK, Ireland) with more summer dates to be added.
